Last night I finally got to go out with my wonderful CJ girls. Kristin, Katie Hart, Riley, Rachal, yes the long lost Rachal Yanker, and I met up at Riley's house first. It's so funny when we all come together again, it's like we never left. Someone from the outside would never guess the last time I saw Rach was almost 2 years ago. Or that I only see Kristin, Riley, and KHart about 3 times a year. I guess that's what best friends is all about.
So we met up and headed downtown to Rigazzi's where we met up with Katie Poulin, Mike, and the whole Desmet crew I haven't seen since high school. It's so weird, I remember faces like I saw them last month but the names pretty much escape me. And even when someone told me, they sounded familiar but weird. I can't quite describe it. Like dejavu more than recognition. They all look so different, but exactly the same all at the same time. It's so funny to be with this group again.
We ate dinner, drank (because most of us are 21! How weird...) and caught up. Surprisingly we didn't talk about high school that much. I mostly wanted to hear about the present. So I got some good hi lights, just enough to make me feel that I have the general gist of what is going on.
We were planning on going ice skating after but a mixture of the 21 year olds, the freezing wind, and the laziness got the better of us. We blasted the clubbing music and headed to Gravois for some kereoke in a rundown, hole in the wall, smokey bar.
We sang The Summer of '69 and drank Screwdrivers and rum and cokes. Could we be any more college?
We left not too long after and headed to Riley's again for some cuddling and more talking. Kristin drove me home, of course, about 12:30.
We're all meeting up again tonight - I can't wait! I absolutely love these girls...
love love love,
me
