Books and Nationals and Songs and Things

Perfect example of a direct relationship: The more I have to do, the more I blog. Maybe I'm procrastinating, or maybe I have more to think about, and therefore am more inspired to write. Let's pick the latter, shall we? It's not so bad, think of it this way: the more I blog, the more material I have to write my comedic self-help book. Which will happen...some day. I'm thinking it's going to be a wittier Carrie Bradshaw style book geared towards triathletes/people who like funny stuff. Yeah...it'll probably end up in the clearance section of Costco and have 2 buyers: my mom and my grandma, both of which will proclaim to the world it's the best book since Hemingway. My sister will borrow it from my mom and then send me a text that says, "Too funny! Xoxo!" My older brother will lie and say he read it, and my little brother will get a free copy and use it as a coaster. Dad will have absolutely no idea I wrote a book and will first hear about it 3 weeks...

Alright, so I can finally tell you guys what I was talking about a couple blog posts ago when I said exciting things were happening but I didn't wait to write about it yet! Ready!? It's official - I adopted a coonhound pup named Henry! Henry is a 1 1/2 year old rescue from Tennessee. He was found wandering the streets/woods in January starved, emaciated, and crawling with fleas to the point where they thought he was going to die. He also had a lot of hair missing because he laid on concrete for days at a time. In the south, coonhounds are so common that they usually give them 2 days to be adopted in the pound before killing them, so there are some organizations that go to the south and bring them to other parts of the country for a chance at a better life. Ann from Northeast Coonhound rescue got Henry at the end of January and placed him in a foster home where he's been living the past couple months.
