Dance Parties and Bongo Drums

I love those moments where you finally just let yourself go, unguarded, and have a good time. Last night, "I'm not drinking tonight" turned into, "Okay fine I'll play the game." Which turned into me losing, which equals having to drink more. So then the whole, "I have work tomorrow" turned into, "This orange vodka/orange juice combo is great!" Which turned into the music being turned up..because then everyone lost the game. Once the music is turned up, the Flight of the Conchords mix we were listening to seemed entirely inappropriate. Something about Bret and Jermaine singing, "Fruity Fa Fa" just isn't appealing at midnight on a Sunday...especially after 3 of the guys there finished a half ironman 70.3 today - a huge accomplishment which can only be celebrated with pasta, sleep, and beer. Alright so then came on the dance music, which turned into Max taking off his shoes and showing off his five finger toe socks... Then the ...

I mean, of course when I'm away from my family or the girls for long periods of time I wish they could be with me to do certain things like run or go out or just chat. And with guys I've dated in the past once I sit down and actually think about it I get the, "aw...I kinda miss that guy" feeling. But mostly when I get away from past boyfriends it's been somewhat of a relief. For the most part, I am perfectly happy, if not even more happy, living by myself and doing exactly what I want to do every day with no responsibility to another person. I guess that just comes along with being so independent. Or selfish, but I prefer independent. But this time it's different - and I'm not quite sure why. It's like that feeli...
