"So simple," he said. "Just move your legs. Because if you don't think you were born to run, you're not only denying history...you're denying who you are." - Dr. Bramble

This is the Future of BU Tri Team

The Hipster. They are typically college age and value independent thinking, counter-culture, progressive politics, an appreciation of art and indie-rock, creativity, intelligence, and witty banter. Hipsters reject the culturally-ignorant attitudes of mainstream consumers, and are often be seen wearing vintage and thrift store inspired fashions, tight-fitting jeans, old-school sneakers, and sometimes thick rimmed glasses. The "effortless cool" urban bohemian look of a hipster is exemplified in Urban Outfitters and American Apparel ads which cater towards the hipster demographic. Despite misconceptions based on their aesthetic tastes, hipsters tend to be well educated and often have liberal arts degrees, or degrees in maths and sciences, which also require certain creative analytical thinking abilities. They often can be found sitting in groups in the local, non-chain coffee shop or late night pub drinking PBR or sipping mochas. They ride fixed gear bikes around the city And th...

Chris

So Chris has been gone almost one week - almost. It feels like a lot longer. Sometimes I check my watch and look at the date and think, "oh...right it's still the same day as this morning." I've never ACTUALLY missed someone. I mean, of course when I'm away from my family or the girls for long periods of time I wish they could be with me to do certain things like run or go out or just chat. And with guys I've dated in the past once I sit down and actually think about it I get the, "aw...I kinda miss that guy" feeling. But mostly when I get away from past boyfriends it's been somewhat of a relief. For the most part, I am perfectly happy, if not even more happy, living by myself and doing exactly what I want to do every day with no responsibility to another person. I guess that just comes along with being so independent. Or selfish, but I prefer independent. But this time it's different - and I'm not quite sure why. It's like that feeli...

Summer is finally here, I've been waiting for it.

It's amazing what you can accomplish with time and energy - actually it's shocking. Yesterday was one of those truly extraordinary days where nothing went wrong, I loved every second of it. I did exactly what I wanted to do, when I wanted to. I woke up at 7:30 and sketched - I finished my sketchbook! Then I went to the fitrec for the first time since school let out, I was there for over 3 hours. I went to the library and printed some articles out and sat on the BU Beach and read them for a couple hours. Then I went to CVS and got all my errands done. I came home, made a really nice dinner, and watched a movie and talked to Chris. Then, my favorite, I went to get frozen yogurt and visit with Kels. Then I came home and completely passed out. For one I did everything on my checklist I said I was going to do - that NEVER happens. The best part? I think today will be just as good. love love love, me

Up and at ' em

It is now 7:15 am and who is up bright and early all miss sunshine? Let's just say I'm not pleased with myself right now. It's not like I don't want to sleep in, it's that I quite literally can't. I wake up at 6:50 practically ready to jump on the day - except now I have nothing to do this early...or really any reason to get up. I think I have tricked myself into thinking I always have something to do at the ass crack of dawn. Funny thing about that is... So today officially starts my first day of marathon training. The other funny thing about that is...it doesn't include running. My forefoot is still sprained. I can still work on my cardio and endurance though - something that has been neglected the past week - because cycling doesn't hurt at all. And I think later I'll hit the gym and swim...that shouldn't hurt, either. I just want it to stop hurting so I can start already! While B is running 15 miles a day and AL is up to 13...I'm sitting ...

"I was wondering when I was going to see you again." - my physical therapist

As I laid down last night with my foot in a boot covered in ice I began to wonder how many injuries it's going to take before I finally get the hint and stop running... Well, it's going to take a LOT more than shin splints, a sprained ankle, runner's knee, a sprained forefoot, left hip displacement, and plantar fasciitis. Just saying. love love love, me
