Thursdays

And here it is another gorgeous day in Boston - the sun is shining, there's an ever-so-gentle breeze blowing, and not a cloud in sight. Of course I'm going to run at least ten miles today or get lost in Dover all afternoon with Mac! Reality check. Actually I'm putting on my big girl clothes and heading to the hospital until tonight. I should have appreciated days like today more when I was younger and my biggest concern was which materials I was going to construct my backyard fort out of. I feel completely robbed. This further supports my life-plan to be an extremely educated, extremely smart woman with loads of potential and prestigious job opportunities...who becomes disgustingly wealthy by inventing something completely useless that everyone in the world thinks they need, opens a free clinic in the middle of nowhere, works part time rolling on the floor with little babies, brings her dogs to work, and spends the majority of her days running and biking around the we...

Nothin' Like a CJ Girl

Today I got a message from one of my best friends at home, KatieHart (one word, not two) and she signed it, "Love, Purple Katie." Not going to even lie a little bit, I definitely teared up a bit. Though it was almost 8 years ago when we all met each other at cheer camp, yes, I said cheer camp, it seems like just yesterday I was stretching in a circle with the girls who would soon become some of my dearest friends. Mel, KR, and KatieHart were all there. Later I'd meet Molls, KP, Rach, Riley, Corinne, and Mary (I think in freshman choir?) We weren't even 15 yet but we thought we had the world figured out. Well, judging by the fact that I was in choir, on a cheerleading squad, and fully convinced I was going to marry my highschool boyfriend, it's safe to say I didn't figure things out until much, much later. In fact, still figuring. I'll keep you posted on that one. I just can't get over where we all are now and how different we all are now. How we'v...

New Look

Revamped the blog! It's very Christopher Columbus with a modern twist. Not quite sure what that twist is but I heard that line on Style Network once and I've always wanted to use it. Anyway. Its got a very fresh, clean look to it and I'm quite fond already. More later, Love, me

CU: indecisive

Just got a letter from Boulder, CO admissions saying... An admissions decision has not yet been made. No shit, you buffalo. And you just took off 2 years of my life. On the upside, I recieved a letter today saying was officially recommended by director of admissions to put in for the more prestigious Utah State program and she "highly encourages" me to submit my application. Something about the future leaders in Speech Pathology? I'm going to get a professional's opinion on the matter (AKA... e-mail my sister). In the meantime...still refreshing my e-mail. I have got to do something to take my mind off this. Keep calm, and bike on.

St. Patrick's Day 5k

Today Chris and I celebrated a national holiday the only way we know how: racing. It's becoming a small tradition to do a race for every big day, why make this one any different? I wouldn't be surprised if we get married and do a race the day of - nothing says romance like experiencing the highs and lows of  race course together, then meeting each other at the end to talk about how we blew up halfway through, how we didn't know if we could finish, and who ticked us off on the journey to the finish line. And my favorite feeling in the world is first seeing the big "FINISH" sign and then seeing Chris standing right beside it waiting for me. It's the hilight of my race. That, and at the beginning seeing him take off at the gun and lead the race as long as he can....whatta hoot. So today we completed the Ras na hEireann U.S.A. 5k, which was cool because it was all Irish themed (obviously) and they had bagpipe players and balloons and there were 4,000 runners - wh...

SB continued

Officially, this spring break went by way too fast - I only have 2 days left of it! Between getting lost cycling in Dover 3 times, running 35 miles, eating my weight in Ramen noodles, vegging out on Julie's ouch overlooking the Charles, spending far too much money going out with my C.S. team, not doing any work except what's at Citysports...my break wasn't as dull as I originally thought it was going to be. The monotony was broken up with several small, daily events that kept it interesting enough while still giving me my "much needed" relaxation time. Actually this entire semester has been relaxation time...I'm not sure what I'm talking about. Monday Lydia and I did a 70 mile bike ride through Dover. We ended up turned around and lost somewhere southwest of Boston but using her awesome sense of direction we were able to get ourselves back on track - unlike when I'm alone. If I had done that ride without Lydia I'm pretty sure I'd still be bik...
