Next up: Marathon 2

Chris and I found our next big thing - marathon number two next October! It's mt. Desert Island in Barharbor, Maine and it's rated as number two best overall marathon in the US and number one scenic marathon. http://www.mdimarathon.org Looks like fun right? Oh and even better: it's practically all up hill! I guess I'll be getting to know Summit St. really well the next few months.... This officially means I forgot how painful the last marathon was because I'm starting to think it's actually a good idea to do another one! But I'll do anything my number one training partner throws at me, and if he wants to do this then I'm right there next to him - actually probably behind him considering he'll run it around a 7 min/ pace....anyway. We put off my idea of Honolulu marathon and Reggae marathon in Jamaica until we can actually afford to get there some other way than by dingy. love love love, me

GRE

Well I just paid $160 to take a test that I'm probably going to be so nervous beforehand I'm going to throw up. Tomorrow I'm going to go buy the Kaplan book and probably cry. I have until May 14th to learn everything I need to learn to get a semi-decent score on the GRE - thrills. Oh and in one year I'll be graduated from college. Sweet. -me

Good God is that the sun?

HOLD THE PRESS. Can I just say...and I don't want to jinx it...and I'm NOT going crazy...you won't believe this but... it is WARMER than 30 degrees out and I SEE THE SUN. Ho-my-freak-alami-sandwich. Yes, it is 58 degrees and sunny out. I haven't felt this since November! This further supports my decision of be moving to more temperate areas asap. Katies weren't made for this frigid weather - we wear it on our face. Literally. My face has been peeling since December from the wind. So naturally, when it's almost 60 and sunny, I am stuck inside from the moment I wake up until 5...just long enough to watch the sun set and feel it get nippy again. Lovely. But for the few moments I was outside...it was pure heaven. Julie even got an iced coffee...but that might be pushing her luck because tomorrow it's supposed to be 51 and rainy - yeesh. But the temperatures are on the rise and that is fabulous. And I rocked all 3 exams, turned my homework in on time and got 100%...

This is not the red I was expecting

If you are a boy and have a weak stomach, stop here. You have been warned. This might be TMI for a blog, but I have a nugget of advice. CHECK THE SIDE EFFECTS OF ANY DRUG YOU ARE TAKING. I repeat. CHECK THE SIDE EFFECTS OF ANY DRUG YOU ARE TAKING. Whether it be over the counter, prescription, found on the street, bought from a dealer...you get it. In my case, birth control. Want to know how my morning started? I will tell you. I woke up to my period. Again. This is the third period since I got back to Boston and the fourth one this year. IT IS FEBRUARY. YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE FOUR GIFTS FROM MOTHER NATURE BY FEBRUARY. Ok fine. Something is wrong. And everyone has been telling me this for months. But I'm a Katie and Katies don't listen, we suck it up until the breaking point. This was my breaking point. So I call and make them squeeze me into an appointment, which they do, thank God. Meanwhile, I get on the internet and do a little research. Low and behold. Did you know th...

V-Day weekend

Now closing a great weekend - bummed. Mondays are my least favorite days in the world! Actually not really...I only have one class and I get to train before it. So scratch that. I really don't have any days I don't love. All my classes are evenly spread out so I really don't have any terrible days - except Wednesdays when I have to work. Which really isn't that bad because I like work, or at least the people at work. It's nice when you really don't have anything to dread throughout the week - everyone should have weeks like this. I think there'd be a lot less anxiety in the world. And jerks. It started off with getting my bike fit Friday, which made my life. I should have done this MONTHS ago. The ridiculous thing is I knew I was going to get it eventually, I just never made time to actually do it. And the funniest part is the main reason I didn't do it is I kept forgetting to put Int'l Bike's number in my phone. If I would have had the number in...
